Designers comments

This design is intended for efficient racing and cruising on the Great Lakes, based on extensive tank tests conducted at the Davidson Memorial facility. Aluminum construction was chosen for it favorable strength to weight ration and for its space saving factor. An attractive flush deck combined with excellent equipment should contribute towards ease of handling under all conditions. -Olin Stephens

The Yacht

A breathtaking restoration has brought this classic 1966 Sparkman & Stephens aluminum yacht to better-than-new condition. Windhound was rebuilt from the keel up. The complete, professional refit included a new spar and an interior redesigned for comfort and utility. Hull has been structurally repaired, faired and painted in the original, beautiful white. She received a complete new deckhouse and teak decking all around. Extras include upgraded winches and new North sails (main, roller-furling genoa and asymmetric cruising spinnaker). Yanmar auxiliary has just 40 hours and is like new. Here's a prime, shining example of how a fine yacht can be lovingly resurrected beyond pristine for a long and happy second life. Asking: $459,000 USD.
